Manan Gandhi: Building a better future in New Zealand

I chose civil engineering because of my enduring curiosity about how ideas on paper transform into real structures that support people and communities. I sought a career where my work would be practical, meaningful, and visible for generations. This motivation led me to complete both a Diploma and Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, and later contribute to major government housing and redevelopment projects in Ahmedabad.

Seeing families receive safer and better homes confirmed why I chose this profession. It showed me that civil engineering is not only about constructing buildings; it is also about improving people’s quality of life.

I moved to New Zealand to build a better future, expand my professional knowledge, and learn international construction standards. My goal is to establish myself in New Zealand’s construction industry and contribute my experience to safe, sustainable, and high-quality projects.

What sets me apart is my combination of hands-on site engineering experience and end-to-end project coordination. I have progressed from purchasing and quality inspections to managing major government redevelopment projects, coordinating 100–130 workers daily.

I bring practical problem-solving, strong quality awareness, and a genuine commitment to applying my international experience successfully within New Zealand’s construction industry.
